Rather than censuring inappropriate conduct by fine or incarceration, proper drinking behavior is regulated by custom -- unwritten rules. And this generally works.

So it is customary not to walk around in public with an open beer. To do so is frowned upon. But here's the catch: Mike and I do not mind being frowned upon. We're each well practiced in being slightly disapproved of by those around us. So we're immune to these "customs." Moo ha ha!

Oh, and hey, that's a pisser of a view. Somewhere down there is Salzberg, hence the name of this general area: Obersalzberg. And sue me if I'm spelling any of this wrong.
